So glad that there is a rescue center for cats and dogs. However there shouldn't be we should after our pets cats dog whatever creatures great and small. We found a lost cat and we glad we could bring it to this sanctuary 🐱

We have rehomed multiple dogs and cats from shelters before and still found this place depressing. We felt provision of better facilities was in order, particularly considering that the rehoming fees are so steep - in some cases it would be cheaper to buy a pedigree puppy, which seems wrong when taking on an animal with issues, a lack of training and in our case health problems brought about by confinement. There is clearly also a lack of organisation/ system of management which does not benefit the pets or assist potential rehomers. You'll find it hard to glean information by walking around as whilst someone has gone to the trouble of putting a code for each dog on each pen, you'll have to queue up afterwards to ask for information on any animal you're interested in. It would make life way easier both for staff and rehomers to find out that X was unsuitable for a home with cats for example whilst looking around, than have to go in asking only to find out after 20 more minutes queuing that you couldn't re-home him, and have to start over again. Furthermore a pet admitted will not be sterilised until reserved, which lengthens it's stay at the rescue and in some cases means it's being sterilised mid winter which must feel less comfortable for it when living in a outdoor concrete pen with little shelter, no heat, minimal bedding and sometimes kennel mates who are not overly kind (we did see some bullying). The staff are very nice but stuck with policies that make it hard to truly help you out. For example it's impossible to get to know the animals properly before you take them home because staff don't have time to take them out their pens for more than ten minutes, and there's no chance of spending time alone with your chosen critter - you won't be trusted to do this in case you steal him/her (no joke). For existing owners of dogs hoping to get another, you'll be asked to bring your current pet along to ensure they can be friends. In theory this is very sound advice, though in practice terrible. Introduction pens are right within the complex of incessantly barking dogs and the environment is massively overwhelming and stressful even for calm, well socialized hounds. Any introduction on this basis cannot be representative. You'll be able to go for a "walk" first with both your existing and selected pet, but as a member of staff must accompany you this will of course not be long enough to allow the dogs any time to relax or get used to each other, let alone enjoy themselves!, there will be the distraction of multiple other dogs being walked past you (as everyone walks in the same immediate area), and of course you're so close to the shelter that the noise and smell is very much distracting and stress inducing to your pet. Credit to any pet coming from a nice quiet home who doesn't totally lose the plot during this experience! We give the facility two stars because staff were pleasant and helpful (within the confines of the system in which they work), pens were generally clean, and it is of course a good thing to help out pets and find them new homes.

We tried to help a cat and her two kittens who keep coming into our garden and fighting our pets for food. So even though it was many miles out of our way we managed to round them up and put them in baskets. They told us we would have to take them elsewhere . The cats couldn't travel that far again in the heat of our van so we had to set them free. No wonder France has such a problem with stray cats. People who take the time to bring cats in instead of abandoning them straight away get treat like s*** and now a fertile cat and two young kittens are roaming the countryside. Very upset and disappointed. They weren't bothered what happened to the cats once off their property.
